Are there any acoustic Guitars that look like electrics?
I like the acoustic sound but not the look. Is there any brands of guitars that have a different design?
Yes, the Ovation guitars. I think you will find that they are the only guitar that doesn’t look like an acoustic but still sounds almost as good as one.
You will not find an acoustic guitar that will sound just as good if it looks electric. Hollowbodies, semi-hollowbodies sound very mid range and lack the bass that a decent acoustic has.
You can also find very specailized guitars that are syth driven, and so can be played with Nylon strings, or steel strings, and can sound like a variety of guitars. I don’t quite buy it, but that is their claim. So, you can take a strat, put a Roland pickup on it, feed it through the synth, and it will sound ‘acoustic’. At least to some people’s ears, I suppose.
