Ibanez RG350DX Electric Guitar
The Ibanez RG350DX Electric Guitar is part of the RG Tremolo series. This series includes a wide range of models with a variety of different features and an exciting array of finishes. The one constant factor found in all of them is the Edge Zero II tremolo with the Zero Point System, which allows the player to perform some killer trem effects in addition to providing complete tuning stability.
The Ibanez RG350DX Electric Guitar features the Edge III Tremolo Bridge. The construction and feel of the all new Edge III is quite similar to the original Ibanez Edge locking trem. One of the main differences in this version however, are the lower profile fine-tuners which have been inspired by the lo-PRO Edge and new-design saddles.
These trem-equipped Guitars have helped usher in a brand new way of playing hard rock and metal. They continue pushing the boundaries all while standing up to some of the most abusive whammy bar users anywhere. The RG350DX allows for lightning fast fretboard work with its Wizard neck, jumbo frets, and flat fingerboard.
It comes equipped with the ultra-fast Wizard II neck along with Ibanez IBZ INF Infinity series pickups for some of the fastest playability along with the some of the best sound in its price range. The RG350DX features a 3-piece maple neck, black hardware, basswood body, and a bound rosewood fretboard (for a warm, smooth tone and good pick attack) with 24 jumbo frets. The Ibanez Edge III Tremolo bridge compares to many of the more expensive Ibanez models, and they offer all of this at an incredible price.
Ibanez RG350DX Electric Guitar Reviews and Opinions:
There were quite a few reviews from customers about this guitar. Besides looking good, playing well, and having a nice weight to it, the price is next to impossible to beat. For the value that The Guitar offers, it is simply very hard to overlook the price that Ibanez is charging for the guitar.
One reviewer made a statement saying that nothing is ever made perfect. However, they mentioned that the factory set-up was actually quite good and they were very surprised by this. The action was pretty low, and could easily be lowered. The quality of the parts is excellent and it should last for a long time into the future. Great value for the money.
On the other hand, a different reviewer thought that the build quality could have been much better. What they noticed after the first hour of play was that the neck bolt holes have pimply paint, and although it wasn’t a big deal it was noticeable nonetheless. Also the pickguard is lifted on both sides of the neck so it doesn’t fit against the body; it could possibly need to be sanded and widened. This reviewer also stated that the fret edges and binding are not completely smooth and parts of the headstock aren’t finished as smooth as one might expect.
However, they still felt that it’s easily worth the price even though it isn’t perfect, and they really felt that it was an excellent looking guitar. The controls are precise and done well. Many people also loved the Wizard neck of this guitar. One person said they picked up their Strat after playing the RG350DX and it felt like they were holding a baseball bat! The neck was the number one reason they bought this guitar.
Others have mentioned the finish is great and the inlays look nice. It has a stunning appearance for the price. The 3 pickup array with a 5 way switch provides a variety of different tones. A few people had a problem with the trem system, with this particular reviewer stating that the Edge II trem and lock nut are nice when they work. One of the fine tuners of theirs was stripped so the low E is always going out of tune.
Unfortunately this reviewer had some other negative things to say about it. For the price it looks great and sounds ok. But overall they weren’t very pleased with the Edge trem system. They felt it leaves a lot to be desired so don’t buy it on looks alone. The neck and mid pick ups were ok for stock, and better for cleans. The bridge pick up needed to be replaced because they felt it was very muddy and didn’t have any tone. They also said that it badly needed a set up, and overall were very disappointed with the guitar and customer service from Ibanez. After 6 months they sold it.
Another reviewer stated that this guitar can give you whatever you want, including great sound no matter what the pickup configuration is. Harmonics are everywhere, meaning even a beginner can sound like Joe Satriani. You probably won’t find many guitars that offer this much quality for what the price is. According to them, Ibanez could charge what a gem costs and you would still be getting your money’s worth.
While it isn’t a perfect guitar, there were so many people that completely loved this guitar. The low price of this guitar was pointed out by many, many different people. It is made for metal and that is what the majority of people felt it did very well. Like everything though, the opinions run from absolutely great to very disappointed, however from what we saw, it seems that there are many more positive opinions than negatives.
